As a result, the initiative is already setting new standards for the whole mining industry. In the United Kingdom, it is considered the best safety program. And if all this effort was recognized around the world, in Brazil it couldn’t be any different. Anglo American has just won the Proteção Brazil award, issued by the Proteção Magazine, and our nickel mine in Barro Alto, Goiás, has been elected the safest one in the country by the Minérios&Minerales mining magazine.

Cleudesil, who’s been working with us for 8 years, is a machine operator in Barro Alto. Safety is part of his routine – he analyzes the risks before engaging in any activity and also worries about the safety of his colleagues.
